Catching up on things:
? New and improved. Met with a client and we??re talking about websites of organizations that are similar to his. (Paraphrasing) ??I want my site to be a new and improved version of theirs.? He stops himself. ??Wait, you can??t be new AND improved.? True, you??re either new OR improved. ??For you,? I told him, ??we??ll aim for new.?
? How often do you feel this way? Stephen Baker over at BusinessWeek.com: ??My wife complains no end about how I clean the kitchen, because I often stop when the job’s 90% done. I enjoy the beginning of the job. You wash a big pot and put plates in the dishwasher, and suddenly the counter’s clear. Progress is palpable. But the last 10% of the job–the glass you left on the table, the stains on the stove–they seem to take 50% of the time, and provide no satisfaction.?
How many times are you real gung-ho about a project at the beginning, but once it starts to drag, well…
The measure of your work is how you start and finish the job. Your value is based on it??s entirety. Anything less and you become less valued. Period.
? The Kleenex Blog. Time for Kleenex update. Last time we visited, I questioned the value of the blog on this site. Things have changed, but is it really enough? After a couple of months, I still don??t understand a couple of things:
1. Still no RSS feed. Why?
2. It??s time to move the ??Welcome to the Let it Out blog? paragraph from the top. I believe that this adds confusion for visitors. People are used to seeing new headlines at the top of every blog page. This has been there since day one. Someone who scans would be lead to believe that the site??s never been updated. At least I was. Anyone else?
At the same time, they should be lauded for the CGC component of the site. People have clearly been participating. And that??s always good.
? Being authentic. The BlueSky Resume blog talks about ??Al Gore’s transformation from wooden political candidate to inspiring advocate.? Read the post and think about your own position. Are you the ??wooden? you or are you the ??inspiring advocate? you? How you feel may not only reveal a lot about yourself, but about your workplace as well. Think about it.
That’s it, that’s all for now.

Hi Mark,
Thanks so much for your ongoing thoughtful commentary on the “let it out” site and blog. I’m the blog author and I just wanted to let you know that the header post will be updated soon and that adding an RSS feed is in the works and hopefully will also arrive very soon.
Cheers,
Maria
