Book club blog roll

Inspired by the MarketingProfs Book Club, organized and moderated by Christina Kerley (CK), Iâ??ve added a new column to my blog roll. Over on the right, down the page, youâ??ll see the names of the participants â?? people who took time out of the schedules to add their thoughts, insights, examples, proof, and questions to the discussion. And it was a lively one.

A couple of things to note about this list:

â?¢ Iâ??ve tried to include everyone who had a link in his or her MarketingProfs profile. If youâ??re not on the list, please let me know and Iâ??ll add your name and link.

â?¢ Some of the names donâ??t link to a blog, but rather to the company where that person works. If you want me to point readers elsewhere, just let me know.

â?¢ The list is in no particular order. I just combed through the threads and went along from there.

â?¢ Iâ??ll do my best to maintain the list down the road, as the group grows and we review more books.

Onto the list:

CK
Valeria Maltoni
David Reich
Mack Collier
Kris Hoet
Gavin Heaton
Tim McHale
Stephen Denny
Brian Lunde
Tim Jackson
Jackie Kaufenberg
Jessica A. Boucher
Tammy Strnatka
Donna Andrews
Bob Glaza
Drew McLellan
Maribeth Conard
Dave Krehbiel
Paul McEnany
Kathy Smith
Andrew Rose
Luis Raul Marroquin
Jeremy Shearer
Lewis Green
Laura Mandzok
Marni Pingree
Laura Ries
Claudiu Florea
Doug Hudiburg
Louise King
Ann Handley

Take some time and explore this list. You’ll find some intriguing, thought-provoking blogs that you may never have heard about. You just may end up adding some to your newsreader.

I should also note that the authors of Citizen Marketers, Jackie Huba and Ben McConnell, both participated in the review. Remember the days when you had to go through a writer’s agent or hope to catch them at a book store signing to have any contact? Those days are long gone.

Until the next time.

Mark … the Book Club was a great success and I am looking forward to the next one! As you point out, it certainly attracted some great thinking!

  2. CK Says:

Thanks so much–I got so much from the discussions…and all the new people I’ve met. Until the next time, indeed.

P.S.: Let me know how “Wikinomics” goes. I’ll be checking it out for sure!

  3. Valeria Maltoni Says:

    Mark:

This was one of the best book discussions I’ve participated in and CK was the perfect organizer and instigator. She demonstrated clearly what passion and dedication can do for a project.

Thank you for engaging in the conversation.

  4. Ann Handley Says:

Mark: Thanks so much for your kind words and support of the Book Club! CK is a gem — none of it would have happened without her brains and brawn. I came away from the experience in total respect and awe of her.

I so appreciate everyone who opted in to the discussion, and thanks for the extra group hug!

  5. Mark Says:

Looking forward to the next one. The only questions are: which book and when?

  6. Doug Hudiburg Says:

Mark, thanks for building this list (I’ve added you to my blogroll as well). I really enjoyed the limited participation I had. I’m still reading the book! It’s a great one and I’ve learned a lot through the processs of reading and discussing in. I LOVE the concept of this book club and to see how enthusiastically everyone responded.

    BTW.

If anyone has a moment, I’ve just created a Top 10 List in an attempt to lis the most important internet marketing metrics. I’d love to get some critical feedback on the list:

  7. Bob Glaza Says:

Not just the book club, Mark - that entire MarketingProfs bunch is inspiring marketers and bloggers to do more of both - keep up your good work!
